All around us there are signs of change. Over 1000 more local people are in work thanks to help from New Deal. Crime is down by over a fifth since 2000. Both local parks have had a makeover. Hundreds of residents’ groups have changed things in their own communities through New Deal grants.
But New Deal is a ten-year programme – and our current funding comes to an end in 2010. So our biggest challenge is to make sure that positive changes continue after the Government cash has been spent.
Changing the present is not enough. We are determined to make sure that New Deal has a lasting impact, leaving a legacy to benefit the next generation of West Enders.
We're working on this in all sorts of ways:
Future-proofing
Spreading the word
If it works, let's keep it
Bricks and mortar
A seat at their table
