Getting ahead
New jobs, smarter streets and new parkland are on the agenda for Benwell and Scotswood. It’s all part of an Area Action Plan, which provides a vision for the area’s future.
Hundreds of residents have had their say on the plan, which tackles issues like homes, jobs and community facilities.
The plan was approved by the Council’s Executive in January 2008, and the next step is an independent examination by the Government before the plan swings into action in January 2009.
